Turkish authorities detain imoRR
Turkish Counter-Strike player imoRR was detained by authorities on Thursday (12/06/2025) morning for allegedly promoting an illegal gambling website. The 25-year-old Eternal Fire player was among 11 influencers arrested during a coordinated police operation targeting those who promoted gambling services to their followers.
Istanbul's Cyber Crime Investigation Bureau led the investigation into the gambling website "Key Drop," which allows users to open virtual cases and convert their winnings into real money. Turkish law strictly prohibits gambling activities and their promotion, making such websites and their endorsement illegal within the country's borders.
During their investigation, police discovered a case on the Key Drop website that bore imoRR's name, with the platform claiming it was created in cooperation with the professional player. Evidence also showed that imoRR had referenced the gambling service in a social media post during 2024, further linking him to the promotion of the illegal platform.
imoRR was recently brought back into Eternal Fire after Aurora picked up the entire lineup. imoRR's Eternal Fire journey started way back in 2021 but he has been a familiar name in Turkish Counter-Strike over the years, playing alongside some of Turkey's best Counter-Strike lineups in his career that spans a little over eight years.
The operation was picked up and reported by many traditional media outlets. Eternal Fire confirmed the detention in an official statement posted on social media, announcing that imoRR had been released to await trial without remaining in custody. The organization has not provided additional details about the situation or commented on the potential impact on the player's career.
This is a developing story; more updates shall follow as and when made public by Eternal Fire, imoRR or the Turkish authorities.
