Dane announces retirement

Counter-Strike's most successful player, five-time Major winner, dupreeh announced his retirement, ahead of the BLAST.tv Austin Major 2025 Grand Final between Vitality and The MongolZ.

Kicking off his career more than a decade ago in 2012 with 3DMAX, dupreeh's first big move came when he joined CPH Wolves where he teamed up with his future Major winning teammates, device and Xyp9x. After CPH Wolves, his next big move came when he moved to Dignitas in 2014 before switching to TSM a year later. The TSM move saw dupreeh achieve success as a team before moving to the starred Astralis team.

At Astralis, dupreeh and his Danish teammates created history, winning four Majors, three of them coming back-to-back-to-back. dupreeh and Astralis also became the first winners of the Intel Grand Slam and he himself performed at the highest level, finishing as the 5th best player of 2018.

As COVID-19 struck, the world stopped and so did Astralis' dominance. device leaving the team ended the Danish era and dupreeh along with his coach zonic and teammate Magisk moved to Vitality at the start of 2022. Although they couldn't win much in 2022, dupreeh won his record breaking fifth Major at the BLAST.tv Paris Major 2023, which was also the final CS:GO Major. The Paris Major also was dupreeh's final trophy as Vitality replaced dupreeh with flameZ post their Major win immediately.

After stints with Preasy, HEROIC, dupreeh reunited with zonic and Magisk at Falcons in the second half of 2024, which eventually was his final team. Since then, he has moved to a talent role and has appeared on numerous events as an Analyst including the recently concluded BLAST.tv Austin Major 2025.

dupreeh ends his career with 32 trophies, having finished in the HLTV Top 20 Player of the year seven times, with 5 Majors trophies and a legend of the game. Multiple peers of the Dane's, including stars like s1mple and NiKo took to social media as well to congratulate dupreeh on his career and also acknowledged the impact he had on the careers of theirs.
