The MongolZ unable to create history as Vitality crowned as Austin Major 2025 champions
Despite showing promise in the opening map, The MongolZ fell to a stunning reverse sweep from Vitality, who took down The MongolZ 2-1 in the Grand Final of the BLAST.tv Austin Major 2025 to lift the trophy and be crowned as the champions in Austin. Vitality, who become the third CS2 Major champions after Natus Vincere (NAVI) and Spirit, round off their incredibly dominant first half of 2025 with a much deserved Major trophy.
For The MongolZ, who were looking to create history, it is still an incredible achievement, not only for themselves but the region as well, with their runner-up finish at the BLAST.tv Austin Major 2025 being the best-ever placement for an Asian team at a Counter-Strike Major.
The MongolZ's go to map of Mirage got the final underway as ropz denied 910 a 1v2 to see Vitality take the pistol. Vitality started with three but it once the guns came out it was Techno with the impact including crucial clutches to see the Asian team take a two round lead. The MongolZ's defence was impenetrable as a flawless CT half with the highlight from 910's AWP saw The MongolZ start with a dominant 13-5 win.

Vitality's superstars finally found their form as they started their pick of Dust2 with six straight dominant CT rounds before a Tec-9 B hit saw The MongolZ get on the board. Vitality answered back instantly and a ZywOo Deagle round saw Vitality steal a low buy round which saw Vitality go 9-3 up. A mid to B split saw Vitality lock in both pistols and barring one round, it was a stellar T side that saw apEX's boy tie up the series after a 13-4 win.
A brawl on the B site saw The MongolZ pick up the T side pistol on the decider on Inferno but it was ZywOo with a 1v2 to see Vitality hit back instantly that saw them run away to a 5-1 start early on, keeping the B site locked down. A Tec-9 A hit with impact from mzinho saw The MongolZ put up their second round but it was Vitality's captain, apEX, not only calling the shots but hitting them too as he lead Vitality to a nine round CT half.
A mezii triple entry on the A site saw Vitality lock in the second pistol on the decider and that was the final nail in the coffin as Vitality steam rolled bLitz and co. 13-6 to reverse sweep the final 2-1. Vitality, who are the BLAST.tv Austin Major 2025 champions, are the third CS2 Major champions and for ropz, the Estonian finally wins the CS2 Major trophy after going down with FaZe the two previous times in the final.
For apEX, it is the French veterans first CS2 trophy and third Counter-Strike Major trophy while ZywOo picks up his second Counter-Strike Major trophy and first CS2 Major trophy. For mezii and flameZ, it is their first Counter-Strike and CS2 Major trophy.
