Opening games revealed for IEM Cologne 2025

ESL have revealed the opening round of games for IEM Cologne 2025 Stage 1 and with the two representatives from the APAC region having their opponents being revealed.

TYLOO and FlyQuest, who are two of the three APAC teams in the event, will take on VP and FURIA respectively. TYLOO will go up against electroNic's Virtus.pro, who recently roped in former Major winner Perfecto. FlyQuest meanwhile, who themselves made a big roster change, bringing in jks, will go up against the new look FURIA, who look like a proper contender with YEKINDAR and molodoy's additions.

IEM Cologne 2025 will kick off on July 23 and go on until August 3, 2025 with a prize pool of $1.25 million up for grabs. A total of 24 teams will be battling it out, 16 in Stage 1 and 8 in Stage 2. Stage 1 will follow a double-elimination qualifying format. The top 8 teams from Stage 1 will move to Stage 2 where the likes of Vitality, The MongolZ, Falcons, Natus Vincere (NAVI), Spirit, G2, Aurora and MOUZ await them. The MongolZ are the only Asian representatives in Stage 2 currently.

Stage 2 will see the 16 teams divided into two grouns with the format being double-elimination. The group winners will qualify directly to the semi-finals while the second and third-placed teams will move to the quarter-finals. All Playoff games will follow a single-elimination BO3 format while the Grand Final will be a BO5 encounter.
