The MongolZ smash GamerLegion in EWC CS2 2025 opener
The MongolZ kicked off their Esports World Cup 2025 campaign with a big win as they sent GamerLegion home after a comfortable 2-0 win in their Round of 16 game.
The opening map was GamerLegion's pick of Overpass that saw GamerLegion start with the pistol and conversions to go 4-0 up. GamerLegion could manage just one more gun round after that as a strong defensive hold saw The MongolZ take a two round lead. Despite losing both pistols, a second half conversion meant that The MongolZ breezed to a 13-7 win with 910's AWP having massive impact.
The MongolZ's pick of Inferno was a more dominant show from bLitz and co. with the captain stepping up on the T side. A 10-2 T side meant that The MongolZ had complete control of their pick which saw them ease to a 13-3 win to lock in the series 2-0. bLitz ended up on top of the server with a 1.68 rating as he led from the front.
