Breaking: Victores Sumus drops CS2 roster

In another blow to the Indian Counter-Strike scene, the only remaining organisation in the country, Victores Sumus, has announced that they will be dropping their Counter-Strike 2 roster. Through a post on their Instagram account, Victores Sumus has announced that they will be parting ways with their current Counter-Strike 2 roster. With Victores Sumus dropping their, there is no active Indian organisation with a Counter-Strike 2 team.

The current Victores Sumus roster boasts of a host of Indian veterans, including EmbeR, reV3nnnn, Benzene, clouda and RaYzEr. The team was ranked #227 in the Valve world rankings and #229 in the HLTV world rankings.

One of the older organisations in the Indian scene, 2EZ Gaming, rebranded to Victores Sumus back in May 2024. The squad previously boasted of players like ChAmP, Recoilmaster and arakyN as well, during their Victores Sumus stint. A regular in the Indian events and Asian qualifiers for the notable international events, Victores Sumus, though failed to win a notable LAN event during their time in the game. The team finished second in the Skyesports Souvenir National Championship 2025 and the Skyesports Pro League 2025 and also has had various runners up finishes in the Dust2 India - 1XBET Masters editions.

Victores Sumus is also the final Indian organisation to drop their Counter-Strike roster. The likes of Gods Reign, True Rippers, Enigma Gaming and Marcos Gaming amongst others have all dropped or closed down their CS2 division inside the last year with Victores Sumus being the only remaining organisation that kept their Counter-Strike roster. With a dearth of tournaments and no big results from the team either, the management has pulled the plug on the team.

In their statement, the management states that they 'believe it is the right time to take a different direction as we continue to build towards the future of Victores Sumus in esports'.
