ESL Challenger League Season 50 Asia-Pacific Cup 2 Day 1: Recap

The opening day at the ESL Challenger League Season 50 Asia-Pacific Cup 2 saw a host of teams from across Asia fight it out for a spot in the Asia-Pacific Finals with Ph1NNN and Bhavi's new True Thunder project also getting into the server as the lone Indian representatives.

The opening day had 8 BO3s in the upper bracket and despite a loss on the opening day, True Thunder are still alive, in the lower bracket.

Rare Atom avoid upset

Rare Atom took on compatriots, BORING PLAYERS in their opening game with BORING PLAYERS blowing away Rare Atom 13-5 on Ancient. A strong CT half side on their own pick of Dust2 saw Rare Atom fight back with a 13-7 win before reverse sweeping the series 2-1 with a 13-9 win on Inferno. FengDa on the other hand, had an easy path with Kaleido forfeiting their game.

True Thunder start with a loss; PokemoN and co. take down Mongolians

Bhavi and Ph1NNN's new project, True Thunder, who were fielding an Indian majority lineup with Rossi kicked off their campaign against Mongolian team Eruption in the upper bracket ro16 game. A toothless T side on their pick of Mirage saw True Thunder go 6-13 on their own pick. Despite a promising start on Dust2, it was another poor T side show that saw True Thunder go down 6-13 to drop the series 0-2.

While the Indian team lost, neighbours Pakistan had Legion representing them, as they also went up against a Mongolian team, NomadS. It was the Bloody and SOULM8 show as Legion won 16-14 on Mirage and 13-7 on Dust2 to pick up a big win.

Just Swing, Chinggis Warriors start with wins

Chinggis Warriors were up against Russian squad MAXXPOWER and the Mongolian team had a clean day at the office with a 13-8 win on Mirage and a 13-4 win on Ancient to pick up a comfortable 2-0.

Chinese squad Just Swing faced Mongolia's IHC and after a big 13-8 win on Dust2, Just Swing were pushed to overtime on Inferno where the Chinese team managed to hang on for a 25-22 win.

The Huns hold on; ScarX go down to Last Bullet

The Huns faced UR in their upper bracket ro16 game with the Mongolian squad's T side helping them steal UR's pick of Ancient 13-8. A back and forth affair on Inferno saw The Huns hold on for a 13-10 to make sure to close the series on their own pick.

Irani team ScarX faced China's Last Bullet and it was clean from the Chinese squad as they closed it in two with a 13-5 win on Inferno and a 13-6 on Mirage to seal a dominating 2-0 win.
