"Hoping to achieve the real #1 soon" bLitz speaks about The MongolZ rising to the top
Following The MongolZ's win over TYLOO at the FISSURE Playground 2, the Mongolian team rose to the #1 rank in the global VRS. The MongolZ's rise to the top of the world rankings comes after a couple of years of meteoric rise in the Counter-Strike scene, where they have cemented themselves as title contenders.
After becoming the #1 ranked team in the world, The MongolZ's captain, bLitz posted a story on his Instagram account. Resharing a story that tagged him, congratulating on his team's achievement, the Mongolian player spoke about the honour of making it to the top of the ranking table but wrote 'hoping to achieve the real #1 soon.' While he didn't share more details about what the 'real #1' means, bLitz is most likely referring to The MongolZ becoming the best team in the world through their in-server performances and silverware, rather than just the rankings.
The MongolZ have been one of the top teams of 2025 but have regularly fallen short at the final hurdle. They have had a host of 3-4th place finishes in tournaments such as the ESL Pro League Season 21, IEM Katowice 2025, IEM Melbourne 2025 and IEM Dallas 2025. They also finished runners up at the BLAST.tv Austin Major 2025 and at the BLAST Bounty 2025 Season 2 Finals. Their only silverware of the year is their most recent, Esports World Cup 2025 win and will be looking to close the year with some more titles.
The MongolZ are currently in action at the FISSURE Playground 2, where they started with a loss to 3DMAX in their opening game but have beaten Lynn Vision and TYLOO since and now sit in the 2-1 bracket.
