Media: AZR rumored to coach FlyQuest
Latest in the long list of changes this year to FlyQuest's Counter-Strike 2 roster is a rumored pick up for the coaching role. Towards the end of August, FlyQuest benched their coach erkaSt. A veteran in the scene, erkaSt spent over two years each with Grayhound and NKT as a player before transitioning into a full fledge coach. erkaSt has been with FlyQuest since the beginning of 2024 and during this period the team managed to win one B-tier title at ESL Challenger League Season 48: Oceania and one A-tier title at ESL Challenger at DreamHack Atlanta 2024.
After bringing jks, the Australian organization has now benched erkaSt, leaving one of the leadership roles in the team open. A momentary Liquipedia update showed AZR as a part of FlyQuest's lineup in the coach's position, starting a widespread discussion about the move. However, Liquipedia quickly reversed the edit, stating that an official announcement is yet to surface. The rumor even spreads to the Geographically Challenged podcast where Elfishguy, TeaTime and Bleh spoke about the potential AZR would bring in to the team alongside a figure like jks.
FlyQuest and AZR have both not commented publicly about the rumors, nor have they hinted at the move in any way so far. AZR's initially recorded Counter-Strike officials date all the way back to 2013, the year CS:GO came out. With VOX Eminor, AZR attended two Counter-Strike Majors- ESL One Katowice 2014, ESL One Cologne 2014 and ESL One Katowice 2015. After his move to Renegades, the Aussie attended five more Majors but never made it all the way. His recent stints with TALON and Sprout have been uneventful to say the least.
If AZR were to join FlyQuest, the roster would look as follows:
jks
Regali
INS
Vexite
Nettik
AZR (c)
