Skyesports to host CS2 event in Chennai in November
Skyesports has announced a Counter-Strike event in November that will be held as part of their Chennai Esports Global Championship (CEGC), that will also feature BGMI. The event would also see Skyesports host their first LAN event in more than half a year.
The CEGC will take place in Jawaharlal Nehru Indoor Stadium in Chennai, with the CS2 event scheduled for November 7-9th, 2025. The initial for the event has teased the inclusion of teams from India, South East Asia, and Europe, but an official announcement is forthcoming. It is unclear whether it will be a ranked or non-ranked event but it is scheduled to take place between IEM Chengdu 2025 and the BLAST Rivals 2025 Season 2, with the latter set to be held in Hong Kong. The Skyesports Masters 2025 is also scheduled to take place between November 10 - 16, 2025 but the tournament organiser is yet to provide an update on the event.
The last time Skyesports held an international LAN event was the Skyesports Championship 2024 held last year in July. Since then, they have only hosted the Skyesports Souvenir National Championship 2025 this year, despite promising four events in their 2025 roadmap combining for a $1.75 million prize pool.
The CEGC will be powered by the Tamil Nadu Government. Further details about the prize money and participating teams are soon to follow.
