Media: Stewie2k comes clean about editing the screenshots
After a controversy involving pro player Stewie2k allegedly committing a $25K fraud, Stewie has come forward with a response during a conversation with German streamer OhnePixel on his stream day before yesterday.
Earlier, a Chinese trader named Mitao took to X to reveal a deal made between him and Stewie2k, in which he loaned $25K to Stewie and pre-purchased some of his skins. Mitao also shared screenshots of their chat, showing that Stewie was unable to uphold his end of the bargain, either by delivering the skins or issuing a refund.
On Ohne's stream yesterday, Stewie cleared the air, stating that it was his fault for trying to sell the skins early. There was a delay in the re-up of his balance by his gambling sponsor, SkinClub, and then he panicked and admitted to editing the screenshots. He stated that he edited the reverse-trades because he always had the intention of paying him back as the skin withdrawal was delayed.

After this, both the parties agreed for November 1st for the deadline to clear the payments. However, Stewie claims that he was going to meet the deadline and was cooperative, but Mitao kept threatening him about making everything public. Stewie said that he had always been under the impression that he had till 1st of November to clear the payment, and he never denied to pay him, finding the allegations of 'scam' surprising.
As for the 25k loan, Stewie stated that he had been helping his parents financially, who are going to retire soon, in the last two years. He said that all the money recently has been going to them. He also denied any gambling claims, saying that he hasn't been gambling, apart from SkinClub, which he does on stream using the balance sponsored by the platform.
In the end, Stewie said that he has most of the amount for repayment ready, and will be repaying the loan to Mitao shortly. He also admitted that he was only looking for a loan, which he got from Mitao, and doesn't owe anyone else any money.
