Smooya's Elo rant answered by FACEIT

FACEIT's engineer responds on X

Smooya took X criticizing the current Elo spread on FACEIT claiming that too many players had risen up to undeserving ranks. Smooya also suggested a hard Elo reset to which FACEIT's Senior Engineering Manager responded with some insight of what was happening behind the scenes. Jan Pantel revealed that another soft Elo reset was on the way and mentioned that the formula would be much more aggressive this time around.

There will be another soft Elo reset, however this time our formula will be more aggressive than in previous seasons, we will also address the problem of inactive players camping on high Elo.

Jan Pantel also spoke about the technical limitations that came with a hard Elo reset while pointing out that FACEIT are working towards implementing technologies that enable them to be more flexible towards such matters. He also mentions that a hard Elo reset would come with other challenges outside the world of technology such as tournament entry thresholds, club requirements, etc.

Jan Pantel actively replied to almost every concern in the replies, even throwing around playful banters in some cases.
