clyd1e, w1sely power Deep Cross to an upset over Lynn Vision
Lynn Vision took on Nemesis SEA in the tournament opener in a best-of-one on Nuke. Lynn Vision started with pistol, anti-eco and bonus conversions on the CT-side. Nemesis SEA found very little success on their T-side as the Starry-z4kr duo restricted them to a 2-10 half. A flawless second half saw Lynn Vision take Nuke 13-2 with z4kr holding a 2.19 rating at an ADR of 124. In stark contrast, Nemesis SEA could not get going individually with just w1nt3r hitting double figures on Nuke.
In their second game, Lynn Vision faced Deep Cross on Ancient. After a slow start on the T-side, Lynn Vision bounced back from a 0-4 deficit off of Emilia and Starry's multi-frag rounds. Deep Cross went for an aggressive red room play in their T-side pistol round but fell to a cross fire as Westmelon's USP double confirmed Lynn Vision's CT-pistol.
After conceding the anti-eco, Deep Cross opened their gun round with a strong mid set up and ended up getting cave control for free. Deep Cross broke a 3-man B-site hold but fumbled a two on one against z4kr's AWP. Westmelom mowed down four with the silenced M4 in cave, bagging Lynn Vision eleventh round but a w1sely triple saw Deep Cross put up their first T-side round by the skin of their teeth at 6-11. Deep Cross's individuals stepped up late in the second half with clyd1e and w1sely clutching out consecutive round to get Deep Cross on 10, making it a one-round game.
A poorly judged smoke push on B nearly cost Deep Cross the game but w1sely's double saved the day, denying z4kr the two on one to level the score at 11-11. Deep Cross brushed off Lynn Vision's Mp9 opening frags and muscled their way on to A, securing match point at 12-11. Another A-hit saw Deep Cross close ancient 13-11, pulling off a significant upset.
