Nemesis takes down Deep Cross; tightens Group A
After pulling off a significant upset over Lynn Vision, Deep Cross set themselves up for a shot at a 2-0 record against Nemesis SEA. Deep Cross started on the CT-side of Inferno with a pistol round win but fumbled the anti-eco as Nemesis SEA ran off to a 5-2 start before Deep Cross's economy stabilized. A trio of rounds saw Deep Cross level the score at 5-5 but Nemesis SEA clawed back a couple of rounds to end the half, maintaining a 7-5 lead.
With pistol, anti-eco and bonus conversions Nemesis SEA hit double figures right out the gate on their CT-side and by picking up the first gun round, they made it four on the trot, worsening Deep Cross's deficit. Deep Cross managed to secure just a single round in the second half as Nemesis SEA closed out Inferno 13-6 off of a strong CT-side showing with ImpressioN and w1nt3r recording ratings of 2.50 and 2.42 on the CT-side at ADRs in excess of 120.
With Deep Cross's loss over Nemesis SEA, group A now tightens up as each team has won and lost a game in the opening day's play leaving things tied up at 1-1 across the board. Lynn Vision's superior round-difference sees them top the Group A leaderboard for now.
