Arise fall to Change The Game in ECL S51 APAC Cup 1 opener
Arise kicked their ESL Challenger League Season 51 Asia-Pacific Cup 1 campaign off with a disappointing loss to Chinese team Change The Game with Bhavi's boys having the early advantage but were unable to capitalise on it. Bhavi and co. started the series with a big lead on Inferno and while they just managed to hold on for a win on the opening map, they dropped their map pick and things spiralled out as Change The Game fought back to reverse sweep the series.
Change The Game's pick of Inferno got the action underway as triple from ProKiller saw the Chinese team pick up the T pistol. A full house from borosto and clouda saw Arise answer back with force and Bhavi's boys used the force buy win to race away to a 5-1 start. Arise managed to put up a stellar CT side and if not for dropping a round to upgraded pistols, Arise went near flawless after that pistol loss, to take a 9-3 lead.
Change The Game put up a strong CT-side comeback of their own, eventually taking the lead before impact from clouda in the final couple of rounds saw Arise hold on for a 13-11 win.
Mirage kicked off with a quick A hit from Arise with a triple from borosto giving them the opening pistol. The Chinese team picked up the first gun round of the half though and with ProKiller going above and beyond, Arise were unable to put together a proper T side which saw Change The Game tie up the series with a 13-8 win as ProKiller dropped 33 kills with a 2.25 rating and an ADR of 139.3. The decider on Ancient saw Arise start with some promise as Anasasis's AWP found impact on the T side along with EmbeR having a couple of crucial multi kill rounds but Arise were unable to convert a 7-5 lead as a strong T side from the Chinese team with Hack1ng stepping up saw Change The Game lock in a 13-9 win to reverse sweep the series 2-1.
The loss drops Arise to the lower bracket and Bhavi and co. will take on Deep Cross to keep themselves alive in the event.
