Rare Atom records the 1st 13-0 of the tournament

The CS Asia Championships Asia Closed Qualifier 2026 has just kicked off with the opening round's matches coming to an end. The second round of the upper bracket is set to take place later today while the lower bracket games are lined up for tomorrow. The opening round of matches were best-of-ones and while the majority of them were one-sided, there were a couple of close calls. Here's a quick look at how the opening round of games played out at CAC Asia Closed Qualifiers 2026.

FlyQuest vs Chaos

The first game of the tournament saw FlyQuest take on Chaos in a best-of-one on Dust2. INS and story propelled the Australian side to an 8-4 lead in the first half despite conceding their CT-side pistol, anti-eco and bonus rounds. A four-rounds streak on the T-side saw FlyQuest hit match point right out the gate in the second half. FlyQuest conceded just a single round int he second half, FlyQuest closed Dust2 13-5.

Chinggis Warriors vs Change The Game

Change The Game started on the T-side of Mirage with pistol, anti-eco and bonus wins but failed to keep the momentum going. The trio of ROUX, tikuak and ligroo stepped up for Chinggis Warriors, landing six rounds in a row to recover to their early deficit. Following a 6-6 half, Change The Game accelerated on their CT-side to hit double figures and establish a lead at 11-6 but Chinggis Warriors fought back and put up seven rounds in a row to steal the lead and close Mirage in regulation, 13-11.

Alter Ego vs Lynn Vision

After pistol and anti-eco conversions on the CT-side of Nuke, Lynn Vision fumbled the initial few gun rounds, conceding a momentary lead but the Chinese side recovered in time to maintain a slight 7-5 lead at halftime. Alter Ego dropped just a single round enroute match point in the second half but Lynn Vision took on the four-round buffer and pushed the game into overtime. Alter Ego emerged ahead in the back forth trades in overtime, taking Nuke 16-14.

Rare Atom vs Ground Zero

Rare Atom had a field day on the CT-side of Inferno, with L1haNg going absolutely nuclear. Going 20-5 at an ADR of 191, L1haNg's 3.44 rating CT-side fetched Rare Atom a flawless 12-0 first half and the Chinese side closed the match 13-0, advancing to the next round.

The Huns vs Blazing Beavers

Starting on the T-side of Inferno, The Huns got off to a solid 8-0 start with xerolte and sk0R firing on all cylinders. The duo finished the first half with ratings of 2.37 and 2.30 to secure a 10-2 lead for The Huns at halftime. The Mongolian side kept it clean and closed Inferno 13-3, dropping just the pistol round in the second half.

NEXVOID vs DEPO

DEPO's tournament opener took us to Nuke where the Uzbekistani core started on the T-side and just could not get past NEXVOID's defense. Zesta and MiQ stepped up with impressive numbers, locking in a 10-2 half for NEXVOID. NEXVOID hit match point right out the gate in the second half but fumbled their bonus round, letting DEPO pile up a few rounds before the Mongolians recovered and closed the map 13-5.

Morningstar vs 100RA

Morningstar took on 100RA on Inferno with the former starting on the CT-side. A 15-2 showing from suki netted the Chinese side a 11-1 half. Three of Morningstar's players- suki, expSasiKi and rubeN posted ADRs in excess of 100 in the first half. Dropping just a couple of rounds in the second half, Morningstar secured a 13-4 win on Inferno.

The final game of the opening round saw TYLOO take on FengDa in a Chinese derby. Starting on the CT-side of Mirage, TYLOO crushed FengDa's T-side setups with the trio of Jee, JamYoung and Moseyuh constantly dropping multi-frag head-turners. After yet another 10-2 first half, TYLOO breezed through the second half, closing Mirage 13-2 and concluding the opening round of play at CS Asia Championships 2026.
