The MongolZ books ESL Pro League Season 23 Playoffs
The MongolZ have booked their place in the Playoffs of the ESL Pro League Season 23 after a hard fought 2-1 win over 3DMAX in their 2-1 bracket game. The MongolZ become the third team to make Playoffs after MOUZ and Spirit, who had made it to the Playoffs with flawless record.
The French team's pick of Dust2 started the series with a back and forth opening half that saw a tied score and it took The MongolZ having to dig deep on their T side to get over the line at 13-10. On their own pick of Ancient, The MongolZ started with the T pistol and conversion but that was about all as an stellar showing from 3DMAX saw them bounce back with a big 13-4 win.
Inferno kicked off with the force buy wars before The MongolZ stole a 3v5 with the pistols early on in the first half to take a two round lead at the half. With cobrazera having impactful multi-kill rounds, The MongolZ hung on for a 13-10 win, coming out on top in a back and forth game, to secure the series 2-1.
The win puts The MongolZ through to the Playoffs of ESL Pro League Season 23, which will be a LAN setup, moving away from the ongoing online format in the opening two Stages. 3DMAX meanwhile have fallen into the 2-2 bracket and need to win their final game to qualify for the Playoffs.
