The MongolZ mark historic win against MOUZ
The MongolZ took on MOUZ to begin their BLAST Open Rotterdam campaign and up until then, the Mongolian side had never taken a map off of MOUZ in a best-of-three, let alone win a series. Adding to their woes, The MongolZ were playing without their coach. The MongolZ picked Nuke and struggled to get going on the T-side, conceding a 5-7 deficit at halftime. Spinx and torzsi put up 11 frags a piece in the first half, to secure a marginal lead for MOUZ.
The MongolZ's latest recruit, wreaked havoc on MOUZ in the second half, putting five on the trot to steal MOUZ's lead and hit double figures right out the gate on the CT-side. MOUZ clawed back a few rounds off of fast upper plays but The MongolZ recovered in time and denied the comeback to break their MOUZ curse and finally win a map in a best-of-three against MOUZ. The narrow 13-11 win sent The MongolZ 1-0 up in the series.
The second map took us to Inferno where MOUZ started on the T-side. Techno and 910's 1.60+ rating showing on the CT-side of Inferno derailed MOUZ's T-side on their own map pick. Nearly all of MOUZ's setups were met with in-the-face plays, catching the Ts off guard. The MongolZ handed MOUZ a massive 3-9 disadvantage in the first half. Pistol and anti-eco wins in the second half locked MOUZ out of the game as The MongolZ closed Inferno 13-3 off of a four rounds streak on the T-side. Wrapping the series 2-0, The MongolZ marked their first best-of-three win against MOUZ and send them down to the lower bracket.
The MongolZ will square up against Vitality in the upper semi-final while MOUZ will battle it out for survival in the lower bracket against 9z.
