The MongolZ overpower Spirit to make Playoffs at BLAST Open Rotterdam 2026
The MongolZ have beaten Spirit in the Group B lower bracket final of the BLAST Open Rotterdam 2026 to make the Playoffs of the event. mzinho led the charge for The MongolZ to see them make the quarter-finals ahead of donk and co. with mzinho having a 1.85 rating in the series.
The MongolZ's pick of Nuke kicked off the series with Spirit salvaging their CT side to keep The MongolZ's lead to two, despite bLitz and co. starting with a 5-0 lead. A T side pistol and conversion saw Spirit go on to take the lead before mzinho stepped up and a back and forth second half saw The MongolZ steal a 13-11 win with a couple of low buy round wins and impactful multi-kills from mzinho.
Spirit started their pick of Overpass with a 5-0 lead on their own on their T side before it was The MongolZ keeping themselves alive and managed to pick up a 5 CT rounds and the force buy win, despite losing the second pistol saw The MongolZ fight back. With mzinho having yet another strong map along with 910's AWP finding form, The MongolZ went on a seven-round T-side streak to secure a 13-9 win to close the series in two map.
The win sees The MongolZ confirm a place in the Playoffs at BLAST Open Rotterdam 2026 and will head to Netherlands for the playoff stage. The MongolZ have made it to the quarter-finals by qualifying through the lower bracket and will face old foes Aurora in the opening quarter-final on Friday, 26th March, 2026.
After losing to Vitality in the Group B upper bracket semi-final, The MongolZ fell to the lower bracket where they have had to beat Liquid and Spirit to make the Playoffs and are headed to Rotterdam, Netherlands now.
