New CS2 beta released

Animgraph 2 is now open for all to try

In July 2025, Valve released a significant update to Counter-Strike 2 changing several first person animations that caught the community off guard. This was the community's first look at Animgraph 2, an animation system that Valve announced to bring fully into Counter-Strike 2. The update replaced all first-person animations, including weapon deploy, firing, reload, and inspect animations.

Half a year down the line, having fine tuned the first-person aspect's, the Animgraph 2 migration continues as Counter-Strike 2 developers opened up a new public beta branch for the game where the third-person animation system utilizes Animgraph 2. The beta build features reworked third-person movement animations, weapon deploy animations and much more. You can try it out by right-clicking on Counter-Strike 2 in your Steam library, selecting properties and heading into the Betas tab where "animgraph_2_beta" appears in the drop down menu.
