The MongolZ see off BC.Game in PGL Bucharest 2026 opener
The only Asian team in PGL Bucharest 2026, The MongolZ, has started their tournament campaign with a 2-0 win over s1mple's BC.Game as the Asian squad saw off a late comeback attempt from BC.Game on Ancient to secure the win. The win now puts The MongolZ into the 1-0 bracket while s1mple and his teammates drop to the 0-1 bracket.
BC.Game's pick of Dust2 was the opening map of the series and it was a non-started for BC.Game as a strong CT hold from The MongolZ saw them go 9-3 up against a non-cohesive BC.Game unit. The trio of mzinho, bLitz and 910 were enough for The MongolZ to ease to a 13-3 win to start the series before moving to their map pick of Ancient. A cobrazera quad kill kicked off The MongolZ's T side on Ancient and despite coming close early on, BC.Game were unable to breakthrough which saw The MongolZ go 5-1 up early before a comeback on the CT side saw BC.Game tie up the opening half.
The MongolZ picked up both pistols but BC.Game had the half laid out in front for them with a couple of man advantage situations but MUTiRiS's boys imploded, especially in a 2v5 situation on the A site that saw mzinho ace them from Donut which meant that despite a late comeback attempt from BC.Game on their T side, The MongolZ held on for a 13-11 win.
