The MongolZ make Playoffs in Bucharest after taking down Wildcard
The MongolZ have booked their place at the PGL Bucharest 2026 Playoffs after a 2-0 win over Wildcard in their swiss round 4 game for teams with a 2-1 record. While The MongolZ weren't able to head to the Playoffs with a 3-0 record, they do go through with a 3-1 record and become the fourth team to make the Playoffs in Bucharest after Astralis, FUT and MIBR.
Wildcard chose Dust2 as their map pick and looked like a smart call as the T pistol saw them start with a 5-0 lead before The MongolZ's double AWP set-up brought them back into the game. 910 and cobrazera helped The MongolZ keep Wildcard's lead to two at the break and the second half pistol and conversions saw The MongolZ go on to take the lead. Barring a couple of shut downs from HexT on the B site, there was little to nothing on the Wildcard defence as The MongolZ closed Dust2 with a 13-11 win.
Nuke should have been a formality for The MongolZ, as bLitz led charge for an 8-4 half and despite picking up the pistol and conversion on their CT side, The MongolZ struggled to close out the map and series. Wildcard put up a fight on their T side to make it a competitive half although The MongolZ held on for 13-8 win with a couple of multi-kill rounds from cobrazera seeing The MongolZ close the series. The win also sees The MongolZ move into the Playoffs at PGL Bucharest 2026 while Wildcard drops to the 2-2 bracket.
