PGL announces Cluj-Napoca 2027 event

PGL set to head back to Cluj-Napoca

PGL have announced that they will be heading back to Cluj-Napoca in 2027 after officially announcing PGL Cluj-Napoca 2027. The tournament will take place between February 11 - February 21, 2027 with a total prize pool of $1,300,000 on the line with the main event being a LAN event while the qualifiers will be held online. The PGL Cluj-Napoca 2027 will be the third event in the city after two previous editions in 2025 and 2026 with the Cluj-Napoca playoffs taking place at the BTarena.

PGL Cluj-Napoca 2027 will have a total of 16 teams with 14 of them getting direct invites via the Global VRS (starting from #1) while the remaining two qualify through the European qualifiers. The European qualifiers will have 6 teams invited from the European VRS for the Closed Qualifier along with two teams from the Open Qualifiers. The European Closed Qualifier will follow a double elimination bracket with no final as the top two teams will qualify for the main event.

The winner of PGL Cluj-Napoca 2027 will take home a total winning of $280,000, which will be inclusive of the prize pool and club share. The invites for the main event will be issues based on the November 2, 2026 ranking while the seeding will be done from the February 1, 2027 rankings. PGL also additionally announced that they will host a CS2 event between February 9-February 21, 2028 although more details hasn't been announced yet.
