The Huns no match for Spirit in Astana
The Huns have fallen to Spirit in their opening game at PGL Astana 2026 with the Mongolian team suffering a 0-2 defeat to donk and co. After showing early promise on Dust2, once Spirit got going, it was a lopsided affair which has dropped The Huns to the 0-1 bracket.
Some crisp shooting from the CT side saw Spirit start their pick of Dust2 with a pistol and conversions but it was a couple of quick B hits from The Huns saw them tie up the score early on at 3-3. The Mongolian team eventually took the lead on the back of four consecutive rounds and breaking Spirit's economy before sh1ro's AWP and donk shut down an A hit to see Spirit pick up their first gun round and they closed out the half with four in a row to take a 7-5 lead.
donk shut down a mid push from The Huns to see Spirit pick up both pistols on Dust2 and instantly go on to hit double digits off the conversions. A big multi-kill round from tN1R saw Spirit convert a 3v4 on the back of a late mid-split as Spirit eased to a 13-6 win.
A controlez 1v2 on the B site saw The Huns make sure they didn't drop a 5v3 and pick up their first pistol of the series to get Ancient underway. Spirit answered with a triple from tN1R's Deagle and that was all Spirit needed as they went on an incredible 11 round CT streak with The Huns having no answer to Spirit's defence. The Huns locked in both pistols on Ancient thanks to a sk0R triple but as soon as Spirit brought out the guns, it was them easing to a 13-3 win to secure a 2-0 win.
