The MongolZ move closer to Playoffs in Astana after win over G2
The MongolZ have moved one step closer to the Playoffs at the ongoing PGL Astana 2026 after taking down G2 in their 1-1 bracket game. The MongolZ's AWPer, 910, was the stand-out player with him leading from the front to help The MongolZ lock in a 2-0 victory.
G2's pick of Dust2 was the first map of the series with a triple from cobrazera's Dualies netting The MongolZ the CT pistol. The MongolZ put up a strong CT half, going 8-0 up before MATYS and HeavyGod opened the B site for G2's first round. G2 found one more round on their T side in the final round of the opening half to see out a dominant CT side from The MongolZ with cobrazera and 910 having strong performances. 910 won out a 1v1 against HeavyGod to deny, denying the Israeli rifler a heroic 1v3 attempt and The MongolZ kept it clean to ease to a 13-2 win to draw first blood in the series.
G2 got Inferno going with their first pistol of the series, keeping it clean in the pistol and eco before openers from Techno and 910 saw The MongolZ convert an A hit to get on the board. After a couple of rounds from each team, two in a row from G2 broke The MongolZ's economy but the Deagles hit back as they stole their fourth on the back on only Deagles. The MongolZ built momentum off that and ended their T side with back-to-back A hits to go 8-4 up.

A clean retake on the B site helped The MongolZ start the second half with the CT pistol but HeavyGod's Tec-9 saw G2 answer back with a force. G2 built of the force to go on a seven round streak to take the lead of the map. mzinho and bLitz denied a late A split to get The MongolZ's first gun round in their CT half and with 910 having late activation, The MongolZ clawed themselves to overtime. It took two overtimes but it was clean from The MongolZ in second overtime to wrap things up at 19-15 with 910 on top of the scoreboard once again with 30 kills.
The MongolZ now move to the 2-1 bracket and is one BO3 win away from the Playoffs while G2 drop to the 1-2 bracket and have to win all their swiss round games to make Playoffs.
