The first round of games in Group A at Hero Asian Champions League has come to a close. Group B's first match is underway and upon the opening round's conclusion, the winners take on each other tomorrow in the upper semi-finals and teams that have conceded their opening games will play with their backs against elimination in the lower bracket. Here's how the last set of games went down in Group A.

  • TYLOO vs Australia Ground Zero

TYLOO's game against Ground Zero started on Nuke with the Aussies on the T-side. Ground Zero struggled to breach TYLOO's CT-side as Jee put up a 1.74 rating CT-half at an ADR of 118 to fetch TYLOO an 8-4 lead. Ground Zero denied TYLOO's bonus round on their CT-side but that was about it as TYLOO closed Nuke 13-5, dropping just a single round in the second half.

On their own map pick of Mirage, TYLOO started on the T-side and pulled off yet another 8-4 half as JamYoung stepped up this time with a 1.97 rating half at an ADR of 118 to bring down Ground Zero's CT-defense. Switching over, TYLOO went the extra mile and closed the map without dropping a single round in the second half, securing a 2-0 series win.

  • 5star vs Rare Atom

The last game in Group A's first round saw Rare Atom take on 5star. On Dust2, 5star were pushed down to a 1-6 deficit off of L1hanNg's pop-off on the T-side but the Chinese side fumbled the advantage, letting 5star recover and restrict Rare Atom's lead to just a couple of rounds at 7-5. Rare Atom never really regained their momentum as 5star closed the map 13-11. The second map took us to Anubis where Rare Atom once again took a 7-5 lead in the first half but this time the Chinese side went ballistic in the second half, closing Anubis 13-6 off of a 6-1 CT-side.

Rare Atom levelled the series and pushed it into the decider- Inferno, where 5star fumbled a 6-1 start on the T-side and drew an even 6-6 first half. 5star sprinted to match point at 12-6 without dropping a single round in the second half, showcasing a solid CT-side but Rare Atom were not going down without a fight. Trash dropped consecutive multi-frag rounds as Rare Atom locked in six in a row to tie the game, nullify 5star's lead and push the game into overtime. ariucle and hoolig4n's 2v4 post-plant sealed the deal for 5star as the Mongolian side closed Inferno 16-13 and the series 2-1.
