Community Market gets a major overhaul

The update is still in beta

In the latest public beta for Steam, Valve has completely overhauled the community market to implement various quality of life changes. Item listings now have a bigger view with in-game images accurately representing the state of the item up for sale. A cascading view compliments the feature by allowing one to seamlessly preview different variations of the in-game item.

A dynamic search feature now facilitates filtering out items by applied accessories. In Counter-Strike 2's case, players can search for weapons with specific stickers or charms applied. Item properties such as wear/float and charm templates are displayed along with the listing. Different finishes for an item are now unified, allowing players to switch between Factory New, Minimal Wear, Field-tested, Well-worn and Battle-scarred by moving through tabs at the bottom of the screen.

Here's a quick overview of what has changed on the Counter-Strike side of things:

  • Listings: In-game previews attached, wear/float details added

  • Grouped items: Tab-based navigation for weapon finishes

  • Graphs: More detailed

  • Search: Accessory-based (stickers, charms, etc.) filtering enabled

The community market overhaul update is still in beta and can be opted out manually.
