ESL will return to USA with another IEM event in 2027

IEM Cologne 2026 Major kicked off a couple of days and we're nearing the conclusion of Stage 1 with matches running in 2-1 and 1-2 pools. Meanwhile, ESL has announced the location for one of their IEM events in 2027. Set to take place in April 2027, IEM will return to the United States. "Following a successful event in Atlanta this year, we’re announcing that Intel® Extreme Masters will return to the USA in 2027", said ESL in its blogpost.

IEM USA 2027 will come as ESL third S-tier event of the year following IEM Krakow in January and ESL Pro League Season 25 in March. Season 25 of ESL Pro League undergoes a major geographical shift, heading to Saudi Arabia for the first time ever. ESL will host one more event in May 2027 before heading into the mid-season break.

ESL's IEM USA 2027 will take place between 8th to 16th April 2027 and here's everything we know about the event so far:

• Dates: 8th to 16th April 2027

• Teams: 16

• Qualifiers: Global Closed Qualifier (2 teams), South and North American Qualifier (1 team each), Americas Closed Qualifier (1 team)

• Prize pool: $1,000,000 USD

• VRS invites: January 2027
