The MongolZ overcome the new FURIA challenge
The MongolZ kicked off their PGL Astana 2025 campaign against a new-look FURIA with a hard-fought 2-1 win over FalleN and co. to start on a winning note and handing YEKINDAR a loss on his debut with the Brazilian team.
The MongolZ's pick of Mirage saw Techno lead the way on an aggressive T side from the Mongolian team as they went 9-3 up and with Senzu stepping up in the second half with impact round one after the other, The MongolZ eased to a 13-4 win. Anubis started with FURIA's CT half taking a six round lead and despite The MongolZ threatening to comeback on their own CT half, a 910 whiff in middle against the Tec-9s saw The MongolZ drop a sloppy round which let FURIA lock in a 13-7 win to tie up the series.
The MongolZ closed the series in style as Inferno saw the Asian team run away to a dominating 9-0 lead before a double from molodoy's AWP in Banana helped the Brazilians get their first round. FURIA ended the opening half of the decider with three in a row to keep The MongolZ's lead to six rounds. Despite The MongolZ securing the second pistol and conversion as well, the Brazilians put up a strong comeback attempt which fell short at the hands of a couple of pistols in the hands of 910 and Techno with The MongolZ taking a 13-9 win on the back of a couple of MP9s and pistols to seal the series 2-1.
