The MongolZ send Gentle Mates home from EPL 22
After a disastrous start to their ESL Pro League Season 22 campaign, The MongolZ have moved into the 2-2 bracket after being 0-2 down, following their latest win over Spanish team Gentle Mates. The elimination game saw a lengthy Mirage overtime affair have The MongolZ close it out in two to send Gentle Mates home and stay alive in Stockholm.
With their leader bLitz leading from the front, it was The MongolZ going 6-1 up on Inferno in no time on their CT side and even though four straight T rounds got the Spanish team within two, it wasn't enough. A second half pistol and conversions meant that The MongolZ romped to a 13-8 win with Techno topping the scoreboard with 20 kills.
Gentle Mates finally seemed to have found their footing with a stellar CT half to start Mirage. A four round lead had them looking forward to equalising the series on The MongolZ's map pick but 910 and mzinho picked up a clean pistol for The MongolZ which saw them hit back. Seven in a row saw The MongolZ go 11-8 up on the back of a 1v2 from mzinho. dav1g and mopoz made sure Gentle Mates pushed it to the end and sausol came in with a huge 1v2 in the final round of regulation to push Mirage to overtime. A back and forth affair in overtime saw Senzu go on to drop a 40-bomb which saw The MongolZ close their map pick at 22-19.
The win sees The MongolZ move into the 2-2 bracket and now are one win away from making the Playoffs, while for Gentle Mates, it is the end of the road at ESL Pro League Season 22.
