m0NESY bags EPL S22 MVP despite grand-final loss
After a string of failures following their Austin Major crash out, Falcons came into ESL Pro League looking solid with their big three- m0NESY, NiKo and Kyousuke going berserk in the group stage, propelling Falcons to a 3-0 run. In the playoffs it was m0NESY who stole the show, pulling Falcons back into the tournament after they lost the opening map against 3DMAX in the quarter-final. The young Russian AWP put up a 1.96 rating performance on Ancient as Falcons converted the decider.
Going forward, mONESY again topped the charts in the semi-final with a 1.36 rating series and fought valiantly against Vitality putting up 51 frags in the bo5 that lasted three maps. flameZ's late tournament charge was not enough to dethrone m0NESY's consistently accumulated ratings, crowning the latter as ESL Pro League Season 22's MVP.
With a tournament rating of 1.38 and a T-side rating of 1.60, m0NESY bagged his fifth MVP. Twistzz was close on his trail as the Canadian put up a 1.33 rating tournament on hid FaZe return and ZywOo came in third with a 1.28 rating showing at ESL Pro League Season 22. Throughout his EPL S22 campaign, m0NESY suffered just a single negative K/D outing which came in Falcons' first map in the playoffs against 3DMAX.
m0NESY also topped several stats in the tournament like round swing (5.5%), total AWP kills (149), AWP kills per round (0.46), clutches won (10). In their ESL Pro League Season 22 campaign Falcons recorded their first grand-final appearance in over five months. In 2025, Falcons have made it to four S-tier grand-finals, three of which they conceded to Vitality. Vitality on the other hand hit the snooze button after a near-flawless first season in 2025.
The French org bagged seven S-tier trophies including the BLAST.tv Austin 2025 Major and fell off after the player break. With their ESL Pro League Season 22 win, Vitality have now won eight S-tier events in 2025 just one away from tying things up with Astralis who won nine S-tier events in 2018.
