Skyesports CEO sets CEGC up as India's 1st government backed esports IP

Skyesports CEGC's Counter-Strike 2 event is now under a week away as the Southeast Asian open qualifier kicks off the tournament on 17th October 2025. Shiva Nandy, the CEO of Skyesports took X expressing the organization's pride towards delivering the event. Skyesports' CEGC Counter-Strike 2 tournament was announced after the Indian tournament organizer binned Skyesports Masters 2025.

Talking about the upcoming Chennai Esports Global Championship, Shiva Nandy called the event "India’s first government backed global esports IP", referring to the Tamil Nadu government backing the event. In his post, the Skyesports CEO also expresses his gratitude towards Tamil Nadu's Deputy Chief Minister and the Sports Development Authority of Tamil Nadu while hinting at the organization's desire to transform Chennai into the "Hub for esports from grassroots to global".
