FlyQuest unable to get past GamerLegion in Bucharest
FlyQuest went down fighting to GamerLegion in their opening game at PGL Masters Bucharest 2025 with the Australian team having the chance to take a 2-0 win in their favour but ended up going down 0-2 in AZR's first game as full-time coach of the Australian squad.
FlyQuest kicked off their pick of Dust2 with the pistol and conversion but it was Tauson mowing down the Australian squad from B windows that saw GamerLegion get on the board in the fourth round. GamerLegion tied up the score at 3-3 in no time before the went on a six round streak. Late impact from jks saw FlyQuest pull it back to a tied opening half but it was GamerLegion taking the lead again after a clean second half pistol.
GamerLegion hit map point first at 12-8 and it looked all done and dusted before a full MP9 buy from FlyQuest saw them hold on and a couple of big multi-kill rounds from nettik and jks saw FlyQuest push it to overtime. GamerLegion had the chance to close it in first overtime but regali's Scout and nettik pushed it to double overtime. GamerLegion managed to keep it clean in second overtime to close it at 19-15 with Tauson topping the scoreboard with 31 kills.
GamerLegion kicked things off on Overpass with the pistol to go 3-0 up before INS and nettik turned around a 3v5 to get FlyQuest on the board and the Australian squad quickly tied up the score at 3-3. Following the three early rounds, there was nothing else the FlyQuest defence could do as GamerLegion raced away to an 8-4 lead. regali and Vexite handed FlyQuest a big pistol and after a trade of rounds, it was GamerLegion hitting map point first, finding momentum off a PR ace and Tauson finding late impact. FlyQuest threatened to push Overpass to overtime but it was hypex coming in with a big double on the pistol to close out a 13-11 win for GamerLegion.
