
Mousquetaires start Skyesports CEGC with a dominant win
The Counter-Strike 2 tournament of Skyesports Chennai Esports Global Championship kicked off earlier today with Mousquetaires taking stage to face Deep Cross. Mousquetaires, the Frenchmen booked their slot through the European qualifier while Deep Cross cleared the Southeast Asian qualifier. The series started on Dust2 and Mousquetaires justified their pick, putting up a dominant first half. After winning the pistol and anti-eco, Deep Cross conceded a series a gun rounds as SIXER and JACKZ tore down the CT-defense, fetching Mousquetaires a 9-3 lead.
Deep Cross again started with pistol and anti-eco conversions in the second half but Mousquetaires mirrored the first half, taking all the gun rounds to close Dust2 13-5. SIXER finished the map with a rating of 1.91 and ADR of 101.3. Deep Cross had to convert their map pick of Inferno to stay alive in the series and did get off to a strong 3-0 start. Mousquetaires quickly pulled things back, levelling the score and stealing a 7-5 lead at halftime.
Landing four on the trot, Deep Cross stole the lead in the second half right out the gate, maintaining their flawless pistol and anti-eco records in the series but a devoduvek T-side masterclass sealed the deal for Mousquetaires as the Frenchmen closed Inferno 13-10 and the series 2-0. Mousquetaires and Deep Cross will both face Wicked in their next match in Group B.
