JACKZ ''Experience works a lot in the scene''
Mousquetaires came into the Skyesports Chennai Esports Global Championship 2025 as the second highest ranked team after BIG and unsurprisingly are the favourites after BIG to take the title. The French team kicked off the event, taking on Deep Cross Gaming in the opening match of the tournament after took down the mixed Asian team 2-0.
Following their win over Deep Cross, a veteran of the French scene, JACKZ spoke with Dust2 India about the game, his own career, plans for the future, Indian experience and more.
Well JACKZ, you have just beaten a team that is much younger, with an average age of just 22. How does it feel?
I think experience works a lot in the scene. But we did not have any data on them. So we just played our game, and it felt good to beat them. I wouldn’t say it was easy because we lost two pistols, and didn’t win force buys. But yeah, overall it was good.
What was the gameplan going into this match? Because from the outside it felt like they were going for a lot of aggressive plays and you were always ready to punish them.
We have good protocols on Dust2. We just wanted to play our game, take it slow. We wanted to have a good mind-game I’d say. When we were on Dust2, I felt like they wanted to push us. So I said “Let’s go guys, if we play our normal game we are going to beat them”. So yeah, they wanted to be more on us, I’d say.
Now moving to some personal questions, how has life been for you after G2?
Ooh, after G2 it was a bit messy for me. I had many offers, but I wanted to come back to French people, like HEET. And maybe it was a mistake, because I didn’t play so much LAN. And me, I prefer to play on LAN. And it was the same with TSM. I had offers from Monte but TSM was going to LAN. I also wanted to play with XTQZZZ, but he also left after two months. So I was a bit in the middle of messy things. But in the end, it was my choice and it’s okay.
And now, even at 33 years of age, you are beating new talents like DayMake in 1v1s.
Yeah I am like a grandpa!
How does that feel?
Oh, it’s really good. It’s like if I am still playing, it is because I feel it. If I feel like a noob on the server, I won’t play anymore. But for now, I still feel it with my mouse so I want to continue.
What does the future look like for you JACKZ?
For now, I don’t know. I am focused on Mousquetaires. Let's see if we are able to take some VRS points with this organisations. Next year, I think if that is not the case, I want to be a coach.
I have got one final question for you, how has India been so far, and how has Skyesports treated players?
So far, it is good, yeah. Everyone is smiling. I saw at the beginning there was some crowd, and after some time everyone left (laughs).
