JBOEN on Skyesports: "They tried their best to make everything good for the players"

JBOEN was the third highest rated player for BIG in the tournament

BIG have secured championship at Skyesports CEGC 2025, after beating Mousquetaires in the Grand Final. Since their star AWPer gr1ks couldn't make it to the LAN due to VISA issues, they promoted their academy player JBOEN to the main lineup to fill in for gr1ks. After claiming the title, we caught up with JBOEN to talk about his emotions, the takeaways from the tournament, and his future. Here is what he had to say:

So JBOEN, picking up your first big LAN trophy, and with BIG too. How does it feel?

It feels very good. Very happy, very proud. Exhausted a bit. It was pretty intense for me, especially because I still need to work on how to stay focused under pressure and stuff. It's a big learning for me, and I am happy I managed to close it.

Substituting for gr1ks at the last moment, did it add any pressure on you?

I wouldn't say more pressure on me. But I'd say that I was more stressed because it was like 18 hours before we had to fly, and they told me "Jason you have to go now and play with us in India".

Coming from BIG Academy and playing at a higher level, how was the adjustment like?

It's definitely a special thing to play for an international team instead of a Danish team. I had to make a lot of adaptation, but yeah it's nice.

Would you want to join a Danish team in the future?

It depends on the team and where my career is going.

If you had to pick one, which one would you pick?

Probably Astralis.

What do you make of the tournament as a whole?

I didn't really think about it that much. I'd say my own team surprised me. In helping me and stuff. And just the vibes. Just like the overall skill they have, it surprised me a lot.

Any words for Skyesports?

I think they are very nice and polite people. They tried their best to make everything good for the players. There was no delay shit, so I'd say it was a good attempt.
