"None of the Starladder CS2 Tier 1 events in 2026 will take place" - PGL CEO
Following PGL CEO Silviu Stroie's post on X, pointing out that StarLadder missed the deadline for additional details announcements for all of their S-tier tournaments in 2026, StarLadder took to X, announcing the required additional details for StarSeries 20. While some backed Silviu's statements, criticizing StarLadder and FISSURE for overlooking crucial operations, others suspected FISSURE of going bankrupt. Other comments targeted Valve for frequently granting exceptions.

Set to take place in Fall 2026, StarLadder StarSeries 20 will host eight teams, carrying a prize pool of $500,000 USD. In their press release, StarLadder also announced the cancellation of the Spring iteration of StarSeries in 2026 due to "scheduling conflicts".
The main event will feature four invited teams through the global VRS and four qualified teams through closed qualifiers. StarSeries 20 will take the Global VRS, European VRS, North and South American VRS under consideration for main event and qualifier invites, ignoring the Asian scene. The invites go out as per Valve's July 2026 VRS update. The qualifiers are seeded using July 2026's VRS update while the main event seeds the teams as per their positions in September 2026's VRS update.
