Valve releases new optional Supplemental terms that pays creators $35k per weapon finish
In their latest update to the game, Valve has released an optional Supplemental Terms that let the Counter-Strike 2 team license community-made items for a flat fee.
These terms, although optional, allows the workshop items of the creators to be used in places like the Armory. They will be paid a flat fee depending upon the item type:
-
Weapon finish: $35,000
-
Sticker: $6,000
-
Charm: $6,000
While the exact amount Valve used to pay to skin creators has never been publicly revealed, the speculations have been on the higher end. That is why, even though the supplemental terms are currently optional, it hasn't been received well by the community.
Valve also announced a Call to Arms-ory, seeking community submissions for upcoming items. Valve announced that they are looking for weapon finishes based on Arabesque/Arabian Mythology and Spy/Tech, and stickers inspired by Auto Racing or Fruits & Vegetables. Existing Workshop items that match these themes must be re-submitted with the appropriate tags.
