BOROS banned from HERO Esports Asian Champions League 2026 after racial comments

BOROS in the middle of a controversy again

Jordanian player Mohammad 'BOROS' Malhas is involved in controversy once again as the Alter Ego player has been banned from competing at the Hero Esports Asian Champions League 2026 after an announcement by the tournament organiser Hero Esports.

Hero Esports revealed that BOROS used 'racially discriminatory language' while preparing for the Hero Esports Asian Champions League 2026, which violates their Code of Conduct and anti-discrimination rules. As a result BOROS has been banned from taking part in the Hero Esports Asian Champions League 2026 and the tournament organiser said they also have the right to impose 'additional penalties in accordance with relevant regulations in the future'. Hero Esports hasn't revealed what exactly it was that BOROS had said nor has Alter Ego released a statement on the matter yet either.

There has been a media clip shared on X which alleged shows BOROS making discriminatory comments against his Chinese teammates in-game but it has not been confirmed where it is that incident that led to his ban. Not only has BOROS been sanctioned by his team Alter Ego has also been handed a formal warning for 'failure of player supervision'.

Alter Ego are currently taking part in the Hero Esports Asian Champions League 2026 Closed Qualifier where they are up against Australian team Rooster in the Group B upper bracket final and a win away from making the main event. The Closed Qualifier is also a LAN event and is taking place in Shanghai, China.

With BOROS being barred from competing, Alter Ego have been playing with Polish player tomiko instead at the Hero Esports Asian Champions League 2026 Closed Qualifier.
