Alter Ego releases statement about BOROS incident

Alter Ego gives an update

Alter Ego has released a statement on the BOROS incident where BOROS was banned from the Hero Esports Asian Champions League 2026 by the tournament organiser for using 'racially discriminatory language' in the build up to the main event.

Alter Ego says that they 'sincerely apologise to the CS2 community in China' and have taken the situation seriously and are discussing it internally with the Alter Ego management to decide the 'appropriate next steps'. Alter Ego have also stated that BOROS will not be playing any games after Hero Esports' decision to ban him and tomiko has replaced BOROS for the event.

BOROS himself released a statement last night, stating that his words which came across as racist, wasn't his intention and apologised to the Chinese community. Alter Ego played the Hero Esports Champions League 2026 Closed Qualifier with tomiko and have qualified to the main event as well, with both the Closed Qualifier and main event taking place in Shanghai, China.
