The MongolZ eliminate Liquid from CS Asia Championships 2026

The MongolZ fight on

The MongolZ have survived for one more day at the CS Asia Championships 2026 after reverse sweeping Liquid in their lower bracket semi-final game in Group B. A three map series saw both teams not put their best foot forward for the majority of the game but The MongolZ stepped up when required most to survive in Shanghai at the expense of Liquid. The MongolZ now move to the Group B lower bracket final where they await the winner of the Lynn Vision vs PARIVISION game to determine whom they will face next.

mzinho denied ultimate an ace clutch in the opening pistol on Mirage to hand The MongolZ the CT pistol on their opponent's map pick to kick off their series. Liquid were quick to get on the board though, in the first gun round of the map and went on to put up three in a row to take the lead on Mirage before The MongolZ got going and it was seven in a row from bLitz and co., shutting down a flat T side to see themselves go 9-3 up.

ultimate did eventually get his pistol clutch, as a 1v2 from the Polish sniper saw Liquid pick up the second half pistol but a B split on upgraded pistols saw Liquid go down against the force but answered with a force of their own. The teams traded rounds before a late double AWP setup from Liquid with NAF wielding the Big Green being crucial for Liquid pulling off a massive comeback to take a 13-11 win.

Inferno kicked off with The MongolZ's T side powering them to another 9-3 lead and while Liquid picked up the second pistol, a force buy win helped The MongolZ ease to a 13-7 win with 910 and Techno on top of the scoreboard with 17 kills each. The decider on Nuke saw Liquid start with the pistol and conversion on their T side but a force buy win with the Deagles of bLitz and mzinho saw The MongolZ get on the board early and it was all The MongolZ as they once again picked up a big lead in the opening half of a map in the series.

A full-house from EliGE and ultimate saw Liquid pick up a much needed pistol and they kept it clean against the pistols to bring it to a two-round game. A big multi-kill round from NAF in the lower bombsite saw Liquid pick up the first gun round of the half and ultimate went on to deny bLitz a 1v2 later in the half which saw Liquid take the lead of map at 9-8.

An overpeek by ultimate at Ramp opened the B site for The MongolZ which saw them pick up their first T round and B site openers from mzinho helped The MongolZ find their rhythm on their T side which saw them go on to close things out at 13-9 to reverse sweep the series 2-1 and stay alive at CS Asia Championships 2026.
