
FlyQuest falls short against GamerLegion
FlyQuest were unable to end their first day at the IEM Cologne Major 2026 Stage 1 by going flawless as the Australian team went down to GamerLegion in their 1-0 bracket game. FlyQuest looked like they were going to pull off a big upset but GamerLegion dug deep and managed to pick up a narrow win which now puts FlyQuest in the 1-1 bracket while GamerLegion sit pretty in the 2-0 bracket.
A nettik double openers helped FlyQuest pick up the opening pistol on Inferno with a B execute and a couple of early B executes saw them keep it clean against the eco and force. After four in a row from FlyQuest, Snax denied Vexite and story a 2v4 with the Polish veteran getting his team on the board in the fifth round with a crucial clutch. Strong A site holds from REZ and Tauson meant that GamerLegion tied up the score at 5-5 in no time and a quad kill from Snax in Banana saw GamerLegion take the lead on Inferno. A clean end to the half form FlyQuest saw them stop GamerLegion's five round win streak and end up with a 6-6 score line.

Snax with an intuitive 1v2 handed GamerLegion the second pistol and they went 9-6 up before the guns came out on both sides. Multi-kills from INS saw FlyQuest bring it back to a one-round game with back-to-back rounds and jks denied PR a 1v2 on a pistol buy round from GamerLegion to tie up the score at 9-9. An A site shut down and a late B retake saw FlyQuest come close to map point first but back-to-back B hits helped GamerLegion stay alive to tie up the score again. An A split saw GamerLegion pick up match point first and a well-time B hit saw GamerLegion wrap up Inferno at 13-11 to pick up their second win in Cologne.
