BLAST.tv Austin Major 2025 Stage 1: Day 1 Recap

With TYLOO's win over Metizport, the opening day's action at the BLAST.tv Austin Major 2025 Stage 1 has come to an end with the day seeing a host of stompings and some surprising results.

FlyQuest was the brightest spot for the Asia-Pacific region on the opening day while Lynn Vision and TYLOO picked up crucial wins. Chinggis Warriors though, as expected, had a rough start with the Mongolian team already on the brink of elimination.

ROUND 1

Chinggis Warriors go down fighting to HEROIC; nicoodoz⁠ destroys Complexity and some Pick 'Ems

The opening round of games at the BLAST.tv Austin Major 2025 Stage 1 saw nicoodoz man handle Complexity as OG stomped JT and co. 13-3 on Ancient with nicoodoz ending the map with 33 kills with an ADR of 174.9 and rating of 3.08.

The other opening game saw Mongolian team Chinggis Warriors face HEROIC on Anubis and despite a stellar CT star, which saw Chinggis Warriors go 5-1 up, HEROIC's flawless CT half saw them avoid a big upset to take a 13-7 win.

B8 survive a Brazilian scare, BetBoom impress

After starting slow on their CT half on Inferno, npl's 1v4 brought B8 back into the game as a stunning T side saw B8 steal a 13-11 win against Brazilian squad Imperial.

On the other side, like the Chinggis Warriors and HEROIC game, Nemiga started with a big advantage on their CT half, in their game against BetBoom on Train, going 5-2 up before a 10 round streak helped BetBoom run away with a 13-7 win.

Lynn Vision do, TYLOO don't

TYLOO's opening game at the Major put them against nitr0's NRG and the Chinese team didn't turn up as br0 and co. smashed them 13-5 on Anubis. Lynn Vision though, got Asia going as the Chinese team put up a strong performance against Legacy, to take a 13-7 win on Dust2 to move into the 1-0 pool.

Wildcard, FlyQuest pick up big wins

The final set of the games in the opening round saw stanislaw's Wildcard destroy Metizport 13-1 on Inferno while Vexite's early dominance helped FlyQuest go 13-7 over Fluxo to see the Aussies pick up a crucial win early on.

ROUND 2

HEROIC, B8 continue to impress

HEROIC faced NRG in their 1-0 pool game and it was a field day for LNZ and co. as xfl0ud led the charge on Dust2 that saw HEROIC storm to a 13-5 win. B8 took on OG in the other game and despite B8 starting with a 9-3 lead on their CT half on Inferno, the Ukranian team had to fight hard to take a 13-9 win.

FlyQuest sweep BetBoom; Lynn Vision drops a big lead

FlyQuest' 1-0 bracket game put them up against BetBoom and taking place on Mirage, it was the early show from nettik that saw them pick up a commanding 13-6 win. Lynn Vision on the other side, dropped a big early lead on Nuke to go down 17-19 to Wildcard to fall to the 1-1 bracket.

Complexity on the board, Chinggis face elimination

After being blown away by OG in their opening game, a strong CT half on Inferno saw Complexity pick up their first win at the Austin Major 2025 as they held on for a 13-9 win against Fluxo. Chinggis Warriors meanwhile slipped further into trouble as their 10-13 loss to Legacy saw them end the opening day in the 0-2 bracket.

TYLOO smash Metizport; Nemiga add to Imperial's woes

zweih made sure Nemiga didn't leave the opening day with a 0-2 record as the Russian squad took down Brazil's Imperial 13-9 on Train to see Nemiga move into the 1-1 bracket. TYLOO meanwhile hammered Metizport 13-4 to get themselves into the 1-1 bracket with the Chinese team finally finding form after going down to NRG earlier in the day.

The action will continue tonight with Chinggis Warriors set to take on Fluxo to keep themselves alive while FlyQuest will take on HEROIC in an attempt to make the next stage with a 3-0 record.
