HOTU stop SemperFi's late comeback to move closer to ESL Pro League Season 22 berth
HOTU continued to dominate at the ESL Pro League Season 22 Asia Closed Qualifier as they took down SemperFi in the upper bracket semi-finals and now are two BO3 wins away from a ESL Pro League Season 22 spot. After being wiped aside in the opening map, SemperFi showed heart on Mirage to fight back from 4-12 down but fell flat right at the final round which has now left them fighting for their lives if they want to make ESL Pro League Season 22.
SemperFi had a rough start to their pick of Nuke as HOTU's CT half led by the duo of mizu and dukefissura saw them ease to a 13-4 win. HOTU kicked off their pick of Mirage with a 3v5 conversion on their T side pistol and despite aliStair and shadiy's multi-kill rounds early on, it was all HOTU as they once again raced away to a big 8-4 lead.
mizu and lampada's doubles saw HOTU pick up a relatively clean pistol to get their CT half underway. Shadiy got SemperFi's T side going and from being 4-12 down SemperFi warmed up which saw the team finally find rhythm as they got it all the way to the final round of regulation but fell short at the final step, going down 11-13 which saw HOTU lock in the 2-0 series win.
HOTU's win now moves them into the upper bracket final and on the other side it's not all over for SemperFi, who drop to the lower bracket and will be fighting for the lives in the event moving ahead.
