The MongolZ make FISSURE Playground 2 playoffs over FaZe
The MongolZ continued their winning run at the FISSURE Playground 2 as the bested FaZe in the swiss round 4 game for teams with a 2-1 record. A tight match which swung both ways on the first two maps saw The MongolZ blow karrigan and his boys on the decider on Ancient to head to the Playoffs.
A Senzu ace kicked off Mirage which saw The MongolZ race away to a 5-0 start before broky's AWP brought FaZe's first CT round on the board. It was broky and late impact from karrigan that saw FaZe keep the score close at 7-5 in the Asian team's favour but the second half pistol win saw The MongolZ put up a stellar defence to race away to a 12-6 score line. FaZe fought back in typical FaZe style to not go down without a fight and it took Senzu, who got things underway on Mirage, having to deny broky a 1v2 to see The MongolZ hold on for a 13-11 win.
FaZe had to fight back once again from a 6-2 score line that saw them pick up five CT rounds again to get their pick of Inferno underway. A crisp CT pistol from 910 saw The MongolZ pick up a big pistol but it was the roles reversed this time as FaZe hit map point first at 12-6 before The MongolZ clawed it back to overtime. A brawl in overtime with a late B hit with impact from rain saw FaZe hit map point and frozen double opener saw FaZe lock in a 16-13 win to send the series to the decider on Ancient.
A quick hit on an empty A site saw The MongolZ kick off Ancient with the T-side pistol. Continuous A hits with no answer from FaZe saw The MongolZ go 7-0 up before broky had to step up once again to get FaZe on the board. FaZe stole a low buy round with an intuitive B stack in the penultimate round of the half which helped them close out their CT half with four defensive rounds. Senzu continued his pistol prowess which saw The MongolZ pick up both pistols on Ancient. FaZe found nothing on their T side as a clean CT half saw The MongolZ close Ancient at 13-5 to take the series 2-1.
The win puts The MongolZ into the FISSURE Playground 2 Playoffs while FaZe drop to the 2-2 bracket and will have one more chance to make it to the playoffs.
