Wicked Gaming finishes CEGC 2025 campaign with a 0-2 drubbing
Wicked Gaming have ended their Skyesports Chennai Esports Global Championship (CEGC) 2025 campaign with a disappointing 0-2 loss to Mousquetaires. After being wiped clean on Ancient, the Indian team showed some fight to get Nuke going but lost momentum to exit the tournament with two losses.
Mousquetaires' win also confirms their spot in the final of the tournament and they will take on BIG. There is one final group game left, with Arise set to take on Nemesis in the last group stage game with the teams for the third placer decider game yet to be finalised.
Wicked Gaming wasted no time in rushing into the A site to get their pick of Ancient going but were instantly shut down by the Dualies of SIXER, who started with a quad kill. After five straight from the French team, sharp shooting from hattygOD saw Wicked finally stick a B hit to get on the board. A DEFAULTER triple from Heaven saw Wicked put up their second and they managed one more round on their T side to round out a 9-3 half in favour of Mousquetaires.
drac and SIXER made sure Mousquetaires took both pistols on Ancient and after a clean conversion, it was a massive triple from DEFAULTER, once again, to see Wicked lock in the first gun round. Wicked Gaming were unable to build on the gun round win as a couple of big clutches from drac saw Mousquetaires close Ancient at 13-6.
A big hattygOD clutch saw Wicked Gaming start Nuke with the pistol, which was also their first pistol of the series. After four in a row from the Indian team, Mousquetaires hit ramp with Tec-9s that saw them steal a round to get on the board before f1redup clutched out a big 1v1 against JACKZ to answer back for the Indian team. Wicked Gaming fumbled a 4v2 on the lower site to see Mousquetaires get their second on the board and the French team gained momentum off that to end the half with six T rounds to tie up the score.
Tarkky and SIXER kept it relatively clean for Mousquetaires to even out the pistols on Nuke and it was a flawless CT hold from the French squad as they eased to a 13-6 win to lock in the series 2-0.
