Rare Atom see off resilient Lynn Vision to make PGL Bucharest 2026 East Asia Closed Qualifier final
Rare Atom have seen off Lynn Vision in the PGL Bucharest 2026 East Asia Closed Qualifier upper bracket final, with Rare Atom coming out on top in a marathon three map series. Rare Atom are one BO5 win away from making the Asia Closed Qualifier while Lynn Vision will fight for their lives in the qualifier in the Consolidation final against The Huns.
Rare Atom had no answer to Lynn Vision's CT hold on Inferno as Lynn Vision raced away to a 10-0 lead before the Tec-9s of Rare Atom finally found an opening on the A site to get Rare Atom on board. Rare Atom finished their T side with one round but fought back on their CT half with ChildKing leading from the front that saw the get it to a 7-11 score line before Lynn Vision managed to hit map point and held on for a 13-9 win with z4KR's AWP being the difference with 27 kills.
Rare Atom gained momentum off that late comeback attempt on Inferno to start Lynn Vision's pick of Dust2 with a strong CT hold. Summer and ChildKing powered them to a 9-3 half before once again there was a CT-side comeback in the second half. It was Lynn Vision fighting back and similar to Inferno, the comeback fell short at the very end as Rare Atom hung on for a 13-10 win, and also tied up the series.
The decider headed to Ancient, which was plagued by technical delays. Once the game finally got going, it was a back and forth opening half which saw the score tied at 6-6 with Rare Atom stealing a low buy A hit at the very end to deny Lynn Vision the lead. The CT pistol and conversions saw Rare Atom storm to a 11-6 lead before Lynn Vision started their comeback. A couple of big multi-kill rounds from C4LLM3SU3 saw Lynn Vision bring it to a one round game and a late B hit in the final round of regulation saw clean shooting from the Lynn Vision squad force overtime.
It was C4LLM3SU3 with the impact as a flawless T side in overtime helped Lynn Vision go 15-12 up before a flawless T side off their own from Rare Atom pushed double overtime. It was neck and neck before Tiger and ChildKing got Rare Atom over the line at 19-17 to pull off an incredible comeback and reverse sweep the series 2-1 in their favour.
