The Huns withdraw from PGL Bucharest 2026

PGL have announced that The Huns have withdrawn from the upcoming event, PGL Bucharest 2026 and will be replaced by Wildcard for the event. PGL Bucharest 2026 is scheduled to take place between April 4 - April 11, 2026 and will have a total of 16 teams battling it out for a $1,250,000 prize pool in Bucharest, Romania. The reason for The Huns' withdrawal wasn't mentioned by the tournament organiser in their announcement.

The Huns had fought through the lower bracket in the PGL Bucharest 2026 East Asia Closed Qualifier to qualify for the Asia Closed Qualifier where they beat THUNDER dOWNUNDER and Legion to qualify for the main event. The Huns were set to be the second Asian team at the event along with The MongolZ but with The Huns withdrawing, The MongolZ will be the only Asian representatives at the $1,250,000 event.

The Huns were most recently seen in action at the ESN National Championship 2026, where they finished 4th after a lower bracket final loss to compatriots 5star. The Huns had another disappointing showing at the recently concluded MESA League Season 5, where they had another 4th place finish, once again exiting in the lower bracket final.

The Huns are currently out of the race for an invite to the IEM Cologne Major 2026 but will be in action soon at the XSE GangKui Cup Season 2 Finals along with the likes of TYLOO, FlyQuest, Rare Atom and others. The XSE GangKui Cup Season 2 Finals is scheduled to take place between April 1, 2026 - April 5, 2026 which would clash with the PGL Bucharest 2026 dates and it looks like the Mongolian team has given priority to the 8-team $15,000 Chinese LAN in a last-ditch attempt to boost their Major chances.
