TheMongolz win MESA Pro Series Finals 2024
With both teams having booked their place in the MESA Nomadic Masters Spring 2024, there was one slot in the IESF Regional Qualifier up for grabs as TheMongolz took on compatriots ATOX in the BO5 Grand Final of the MESA Pro Series Finals 2024.
A tight opening half saw TheMongolz finally find some momentum right at the end of the half on Inferno to tie up the score at 6-6 before ATOX ran away on their T side, going 12-7 up. TheMongolz though, held on against five map points to take the map to overtime with 910's AWP and Techno powering up late for the squad. TheMongolz held on for a 16-14 win in overtime as 910 topped the scoreboards with 33 kills.
ATOX got Mirage underway with a 5-0 lead before bLitz and Senzu opened up mid up some clean headshots to get TheMongolz on the board. Once they got going, with their captain bLitz giving them openers on both sites, TheMongolz quickly tied up the score before finishing the half with a seven-round streak to take a two round lead. It was the bLitz and Senzu show on Mirage as the duo dropped 22 and 20 kills respectively to help their team secure a 13-7 win to go 2-0 up in the series.
Nuke's CT side was all TheMongolz as they put up an impenetrable defence, going 10-2 up, finally starting strongly after slow starts in the opening two maps. Senzu and Techno turned around a 3v5 with the former coming in with a crucial quad kill to put TheMongolz on match and series point and they closed it out at 13-5 to lock in a 3-0 series win and pick up the MESA Pro Series Finals 2024 title.
While the win sees TheMongolz secure an IESF Regional Qualifier spot, both ATOX and TheMongolz have already booked their spot in the upcoming eight team $100,000 LAN, the MESA Nomadic Masters Spring 2024 event.
